Bio

I have been an equine professional most of my adult life both as a trainer and as a farrier (for over 30 years). For the past several years I have worked closely with Jim Crew and his Healthy Stride program. Through Jim I learned to evaluate each horse from the top down and identify postural imbalance problems caused by compensations in the horse’s gait/posture that ultimately affected that individual’s performance and/or soundness. By applying generally accepted principles of bio-mechanics to augment sound farrier principles to address these imbalance conditions I have been able to gradually help horses re-compensate where posture had suffered due to the gait/posture compensation. The purpose of this site and the accompanying blog are to present a video and text documentation of some of the cases and hopefully initiate some dialog among horse owners and related industry professionals.
